The first full week of the 2024–25 school year is complete, and schools across the district are off to a focused and positive start. From transportation and facilities to classrooms and cafeterias, staff have worked diligently to create welcoming, supportive environments that set the tone for student success.
Supporting Students from Day One
New and returning staff alike have stepped up to ensure students feel safe, welcomed, and supported during these important early days. Their professionalism and commitment are already making a meaningful impact in every school building.
Transportation Team Ensures Safe and Calm Arrivals
The Transportation Team has done an outstanding job managing routes and navigating daily challenges to ensure students arrive safely and on time. Their work plays a vital role in setting a calm, prepared tone for the school day across the district.
Clean, Calm, and Ready Learning Environments
Custodial teams have worked tirelessly to maintain clean, organized, and inviting learning environments. These spaces are essential for helping students focus, settle into routines, and feel a sense of belonging from the moment they enter the building.
TAE Launches New Guidelines with Positive Results
At the secondary level, the implementation of updated cell phone expectations has gone smoothly, with minimal disruptions. Staff have worked diligently to hold clear expectations while remaining student-centered, resulting in more face-to-face interactions and an increasingly positive school climate.
Focused and Supportive School Communities
Cohen Middle School has continued building calm, structured spaces where students can focus, connect, and grow. At Cohen Elementary, staff have guided young learners through new routines and emotional adjustments with warmth and patience—laying the groundwork for a confident and connected school experience.
Nutrition and Care in Every Meal
The district’s food service staff continue to provide much more than meals—offering daily routines, smiles, and a reliable sense of community for students across all schools.
Steady Leadership Behind the Scenes
Administrative and central office teams have provided steady leadership and logistical support, helping to close out the previous year and launch the new one seamlessly. Their efforts, often behind the scenes, are essential in ensuring every staff member and student has what they need to succeed.
Strengthening the Home–School Connection
As the year continues, the district remains committed to partnering closely with families to support every student’s success. In the coming weeks, middle and elementary schools will begin scheduling parent-teacher meetings—important opportunities to build relationships and support academic growth.
Families are encouraged to participate in these meetings, but they are also reminded that communication does not need to wait. Parents and guardians are welcome to reach out to their child’s teacher at any time for updates on progress, concerns, or questions.
When families and schools work together, students benefit. As we often say: T.E.A.M. – Together Everyone Achieves More.
The district extends its sincere thanks to all staff, families, and community partners who have helped launch the school year with such positive momentum. With continued collaboration and communication, the 2024–25 school year is well on its way to being a strong and successful one for all learners.
