Notice Regarding Bus #95 - delayed afternoon run 10/2/2025

This afternoon during the elementary run, Bus #95 pulled to the side of the road during its route home due to a student-related issue.

Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure the safety of all students, the bus remained stopped while the Superintendent and our School Resource Officer responded to assist.

After the circumstances were resolved all students were safely dropped off at their regular stops, though with a slight delay.

We want to reassure our families that student safety is always our top priority, and we are grateful for the calm cooperation of the students and the quick response of our team.

More information will be shared shortly with the families of the students who were on the bus. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

We had a great first day of school, and we are so excited to kick off the year with our Cohen Cougars! As always, dismissal is a busy time, and our top priority is student safety while ensuring children get to their pickups and buses as efficiently as possible. We know it may take a little time to work through the routines, but things will smooth out as everyone settles in.

Dismissal Time & Location: Dismissal begins at 2:10 p.m. on our busport at Door #1.

Walkers to the Playground: If your child is a walker going to the playground, we ask that you pick them up there to avoid confusion on our busport. Please note that students cannot go down the first set of stairs right past the middle school entrance to get to the playground. There is no crossing guard at the bottom of those stairs, so students must follow the adults and the flow of traffic to the playground.

Parent Pickup on the Busport: If you are picking up on the busport, once your child has been dismissed to you, please keep them with you and do not allow them to run around the busport. For everyone’s safety and to keep traffic moving smoothly, we also ask that families leave the Cohen campus in a timely manner after pickup.

Bussing Reminder: Please remember that buses may be running behind during the first few days as drivers learn new routes and get to know the children. Thank you for your patience as this process settles in.

Ensuring a safe, smooth flow of traffic and minimizing congestion on our busport is essential for the safety and convenience of all students and families.

Honoring a Beloved Elmira Heights Teacher & Coach (1966–1989)

Dear Elmira Heights Community,

With the support of the Elmira Heights Board of Education, plans have been developed to create a Legacy Stone to honor the late Elmira Heights teacher, mentor, and coach, Chuck Brady. Coach Brady served and inspired generations from 1966 to 1989 with unmatched dedication to students, athletes, and our community.

We invite you to join us for a special Dedication Ceremony:
